Major landforms of North America








Alaska Range
Is located in south-central Alaska. Its major landform is the Mount McKinley.
Appalachian Mountains
It extends from Alabama up through New England. Its major landform is the Mount Mitchelle. It is gentle and low.

Brooks Range
Located in northern Alaska. Has snow and ice-clad. The highest point is the Mount Isto.

Canadian Shield
It has a rough and a rocky surface. Is located in the eastern and northern Canada. Its major landform is the Mount d´Iberville.
Cascades
Is located in the northeastern of California. It presents snow-capped volcanoes. Its majors landforms are the Mount Hood, Mount Ranier and Mount Saint Helens.

Coast Range
It runs along the Pacific Ocean across California, Oregon and Washington. It´s major landform is the San Francisco Bay.
 
Coastal Plain
Is located in the southern and southeastern part of United States. It has a flat surface. The most important landform is the Mississippi River.

Great Plains
Is located in North America, it extends at the Canadian Shield. Its major landform is the Mount Rushmore.

Rocky Mountains
It extends from the Mexican frontier, up through the western of the United States. The highest point is the Rockies are the Mount Elbert.
 
Sierra Nevada
Is located in the Eastern California. The major landform is the Mount Whitney.

Sierra Madres
It runs parallel to Mexico´s Pacific Ocean. The most important point is the Cerro Potosí.
